Excessive number of external links: what it is, why it matters, and how to fix it

This page contains a disproportionately high number of links to external domains. Excessive external linking can dilute the page's link equity and may appear unnatural.

Every external link passes some PageRank to the destination domain. Pages with an unusually high number of outbound external links distribute authority away from your site. While linking to relevant resources is good practice, excessive external links can look like a link scheme or paid links, potentially triggering spam filters.

Review external links and remove any that are not genuinely helpful to users. Add rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored" to paid or affiliate links. Keep the ratio of internal to external links healthy by linking generously to your own relevant content.
